only four and i cannot say that i didnt have "fun" - but it was a tad annoying having trey "over the top" in virtually every solo. honestly, i like him studio better than live.

i just think he is VASTLY overrated - it is only my opinion

Dire - I had tickets the show at the Hampton Coliseum during the "Brett Favre" Final Tour. The buzz in the lot was they had been mailing it in all summer. I went, it sucked. I sold my Coventry tickets on the way out at cost. My misguided sense of morality wouldn't let me take advantage of a desperate Phishhead.

I am an idiot.

I guess I'd never make it in the banking industry (at least not in its current form and function).

Perhaps after the impending implosion..........

I'm kind of happy (in a weird way) to be able witness the unraveling of the banking and credit system and the economy. I think the country is in for some unprecedented changes in the next few years - and not the kind of changes Obama envisioned.

There is a great book "The Fourth Turning" by William Howe and Neil Strauss that examines societal and subsequent generational evolution going into and coming out of major cyclical crises. It's a challenging read, but provides some fascinating insights.

I see the market has given up yesterday's gains too. We are in Put options on J P Morgan, GE and Diamond Trust so I am content to see red. I should probably close the positions and take the profits the market gave me.

Not me. We're still in Va Beach - but looking for land in western VA or NC. Toxaway, Stokes COunty or Asheville in NC would be fine with me. Mrs. Mando is looking more towards the Roanoke area or southern coastal NC area. I'll go where I'm told to.

Cramer hasn't had a lot to Boo Yeah about lately has he? He would be brilliant if he learned how to play both sides of the market instead of being green biased.

Did you catch his pissing contest with Rick Santelli? Santelli called him out for being bullish (despite all evidence to the contrary). Pretty humorous.

Didn't catch the tiff between him and Santelli, but did see Santelli's rant about the Obama plan and the ensuing feeding frenzy. Kind of like Cramer's breakdown last fall..."they know nothing!"

If you're looking for land, there's been a lot of family farms giving up the ghost in and around the gap between Asheville and (Soggy) Johnson City, TN. Here's a link that's searchable by zip code for land and other types of auctions.

Thanks for the link. I'll check it out tonight.

I have my eye on an 288 acre (122 clear) lot north of Winston Salem near Pilot Mountain. Zoned for single residence. I could be so happy there. Mrs. Mando keeps smacking my eye further south.

Maybe I'll pitch Asheville to her again - it would that much closer to her parents in middle Tennessee.

Rick Santelli is great. No doubt you already saw this Mandojammer, but for anyone else that missed it, check out his "shot heard round the world" re: saving homeowners that are struggling with mortgages.

His best line was the have to take so many showers if he was in DC.

I don't understand why he took so much heat for it either. Yes he called the mortgage cramdown bailout recipients "losers" but he was really indicting the Idiocracy in DC that would even pause to consider enacting such a bill.

And that smarmy fat fuck Gibbs, patronizing Santelli for not understanding how economies work??? Who are yougoing to believe - someone who has been in the Chicago Pits for 12 years or some combovered snake oil salesman like Gibbs?

Senator Santelli indeed.

Can't imagine CNBC would have steered anyone wrong the last few years....

You have to accept CNBC for what they are - morning entertainment with a stock market theme. 99% of their spew is noise. On rare occasion a nugget of worthwhile information quietly falls out of Joe Kernan's pie hole. When they are all hollering and carrying on, that's when they are to be ignored. But you better listen up when things get quiet - going into commercial is when Kernan is at his best.

Okay, so Becky Quick is kinda hot too......

The folks that lost money following the advice of CNBC "analysts" were looking to get rich quick and didn't want to put any effort into learning - like the majority of our unjustifiably self-entitled society. They would have lost the money anyway because they were lazy and ignorant (IMO of course)

I know; I just love Stewart's shots. The problem is that a lot of people, not savvy investors, but folks looking to make a buck will listen to someone like Jim Cramer pontificate in response to a phone call and take his "advice", which is generally an off-the-cuff reply to a phone call. WHile his knowledge of companies, market segments, trends, etc. is impressive, his answers in the lightning round have caused real people (as opposed to those fake ones) to lose real money. I tend to think shows like are one of the problems contributing to the current mess, but then again, I get my news from the Daily Show and not Sean Hannity or Kudrow.

FYI, my folks live in Emerald Isle, NC and we all hail from the Piedmont. I know southern NC very well. Some very nice, liveable communities...

i agree - there was no way this economy was going to be able to sustain the riotous overspending that has been occuring for the past 10 years (atleast). unfortunately, now we have moved in the exact opposite direction which will (necessarily) forestall the economic recovery process - but if that is what it takes to get us back to "normal".......

i may check out that book now that i can actually understand what i am reading without seeing double during my nightly "reading time" :)
